Nick Clegg is the Leader

Great.

So what.

Unless he is significantly going to change the Liberal Democrats' policy he is still leading the impotent old man of British politics.

The Liberals are unelectable nationally and the problems they have had recently go far beyond any personality floors that their leaders are perceived to have by the media. Fundamentally they are at odds with the public and this difference in ideology will be what keeps the Liberals from any future electoral success. Unless the public conscious or the Lib Dem Party significantly change that is and I am not sure after listening to Newsnight yesterday that Nick Clegg is prepared to change or even listen to any suggestions that he should.

So there.

Christmas from Maidstone Borough Council

This is the building site at the Chequers Mall where the new MBC offices are being built on my way to Town Hall on Saturday morning. That's the spirit!

Very funny

I think that this is an Australian version of Bremner, Bird and Fortune. Hope it is real though!

Jobs

It turns out Paul Gray is back working for the Government on £200,000 salary. Didn't that all work out OK then. There was me thinking that once you resign over a momentous stuff up that was it, gone. Apparently I was wrong.

Absolute disgrace.
